-chapter 1 1
I'm jolted awake by the sound of my own ragged breathing. My head is pounding, my mouth dry. I try to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washes over me, forcing me back down. I'm lying on a cold, hard floor. Where am I? Panic sets in as I frantically scan my surroundings. I'm in a small, dimly lit room with concrete walls and a single, flickering light bulb overhead. There's a metal door with a small window in it, but I can see nothing outside. I try to stand, but my legs feel like jelly. I'm weak, disoriented. How did I get here? The last thing I remember is being dragged away from my room. I stumble forward, my hands outstretched in front of me, feeling my way through the darkness. I reach the door and pound on it, screaming for help. But my cries are met with silence. I'm alone. I spin around, my eyes scanning the room again, searching for any clue as to where I am or who has taken me. That's when I see it: a small, metal table in the corner of the room with a single chair in front of it. On the table, there's a piece of paper with a note scrawled on it: "You should have kept your promise." My heart skips a beat as I realize that I'm in the hands of the person who sent me the cryptic message. I feel a chill run down my spine as I wonder what they want from me. I approach the table, my eyes fixed on the note, and that's when I hear it: the sound of footsteps, heavy and deliberate, coming from the other side of the door. They're coming for me. My heart is racing, my breath caught in my throat. I try to prepare myself, but I'm not sure what's about to happen. The footsteps stop outside the door. I can feel a presence on the other side, watching me. And then, the door creaks open. A figure looms in the doorway, its face obscured by shadows. I try to step back, but my feet feel rooted to the spot. The figure takes a step forward, its eyes fixed on me. And then, just as I'm about to see its face, everything goes black. But this time, I'm not alone. I feel a hand grab my arm, pulling me forward. I'm dragged out of the room, into a long, dark corridor. I stumble, my feet barely keeping up with the pace. We're moving fast, the hand gripping my arm like a vice. I try to struggle, but it's no use. We turn a corner, and I see a glimmer of light ahead. We're approaching a door, a door that leads outside. I feel a surge of hope. Maybe I can escape. But as we reach the door, I realize that it's not what I expected. The door is old, rusted, with a sign that reads: "Welcome to Raven's Peak". I feel a chill run down my spine as I wonder what Raven's Peak is. And then, just as we're about to step outside, I hear a voice behind us. "Wait," it says. The hand gripping my arm tightens. We spin around, and I see a figure emerging from the shadows. It's a woman, her face twisted into a cruel smile. "You're not going anywhere," she says, her eyes fixed on me. And then, everything goes black. But this time, I'm not sure if I'll ever wake up. The last thing I hear is the woman's voice, whispering a single word in my ear: "Mine..."
