My heart is racing, my mind reeling with the implications of those words: "You're not even human." What does it mean? What am I? The questions swirl in my head like a vortex, pulling me down into the depths of madness. I try to think back, to remember anything that could explain this, but my memories are still shrouded in that thick fog. The figure, my brother, stands before me, their eyes glinting with an otherworldly intensity. They seem to be waiting for something, waiting for the clock to strike midnight. The girl with piercing green eyes flashes in my mind, her face etched with a silent scream. Who is she? What does she have to do with me? The voice, the mysterious voice, laughs again, the sound echoing in my mind. "You'll find out soon enough," it says. "You'll find out when the clock strikes midnight." And then, just as the clock is about to strike, everything freezes. The world is silent, the only sound the beating of my heart. I'm suspended in time, waiting for the inevitable. Waiting for the clock to strike midnight. Waiting for my world to come crashing down. The seconds tick by, each one feeling like an eternity. 11:59:59. The clock is about to strike. I can feel it, a presence building in the air, a presence that's going to change everything. And then, just as the clock is about to strike, I hear a faint whisper in my ear. "Run." It's a soft, raspy voice, a voice that sends shivers down my spine. "Run, because when the clock strikes midnight, you'll be the one being hunted." My heart skips a beat, my mind racing with fear. Hunted? What do they mean? Who's going to hunt me? The clock strikes midnight, the sound echoing through the air like a death knell. And as it does, the world around me erupts into chaos. The room begins to shake, the walls crumbling down. I'm thrown to the ground, my head spinning. I try to get up, but my body feels heavy, weighed down. I look up, and that's when I see it. A figure, standing in the doorway, watching me. It's not my brother, it's not the girl. It's someone else, someone with eyes that glow like embers. And as I look into those eyes, I feel my world come crashing down. The figure takes a step closer, its eyes burning with an intense heat. I try to scream, but my voice is frozen in my throat. And then, just as all hope seems lost, everything goes black. But I'm not alone. I can feel a presence beside me, a presence that's watching me, waiting for me. And as I fade into the darkness, I hear a voice, a voice that's whispering a single word in my ear: "Mine."
