-chapter 1 1
I spin around, my heart racing, as the voice whispers in my ear. I try to reach out, to grab the person, but there's no one there. The darkness seems to swallow everything, leaving me with only the sound of my own ragged breathing. I strain my ears, trying to pick up any other noise, but there's nothing. Just the ticking of the clock, echoing through the room like a death knell. I try to move forward, to find a way out of this nightmare, but my feet feel heavy, as if rooted to the spot. The voice doesn't speak again, but I can feel eyes on me, boring into my skin. I'm not alone, and that thought sends a chill down my spine. Suddenly, the clock ticks louder, the sound growing more insistent. I feel a surge of adrenaline, my senses on high alert. And then, I hear it. A faint humming noise, like the sound of machinery whirring to life. The humming grows louder, and I feel the air vibrate with energy. I stumble forward, my hands outstretched, trying to find a way out of the darkness. But it's too late. The humming stops, and a blinding light fills the room. I raise my hands, shielding my eyes, as the light illuminates the space. I see a door, previously hidden by the darkness, now sliding open with a hiss. A figure stands in the doorway, silhouetted by the light. It's the same figure from before, the one with the leather-bound book. But this time, it's not alone. There's someone standing beside it, someone I recognize. My mind reels as I try to process what I'm seeing. It's a face from my past, a face I thought I'd never see again. And then, just as I'm about to take a step forward, the figure speaks. "Welcome, brother," it says, its voice dripping with malice. "It's time to remember." The figure steps aside, revealing the person standing beside it. And that's when I see it. The face of my sister, who's been dead for 10 years. My world spins around me, as I stumble forward, my eyes fixed on her face. And then, just as I'm about to reach out, everything goes black. But not before I hear her whisper: "I've been waiting for you, brother. And now, it's time to pay the price."
