-chapter 1 1
I slowly open my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. I'm met with an eerie silence, the only sound being my own ragged breathing. I try to remember how I got here, but my memories are hazy. I recall being dragged away from my room, and then... nothing. The last thing I remember is the woman's voice, whispering "Mine" in my ear. I shudder at the thought, my heart racing. I'm lying on a narrow bed, with cold, grey walls closing in around me. The air is musty, and I can taste the dampness. I try to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washes over me, forcing me back down. As I wait for the dizziness to pass, I notice a small, barred window high up on the wall. It's the only source of light, casting a faint glow over the room. I see a figure standing in the shadows, just out of reach. My heart skips a beat as I realize I'm not alone. The figure slowly steps forward, its features becoming clearer. It's a woman, with piercing green eyes and long, curly brown hair. She's dressed in a white jumpsuit, and her smile is cold, calculated. "Welcome to Raven's Peak," she says, her voice dripping with malice. "You're going to be here for a while." I try to speak, but my voice is hoarse, barely above a whisper. The woman raises an eyebrow, her smile growing wider. "You should be grateful," she says. "You're one of the lucky ones." I'm not sure what she means, but I know I have to get out of here. I try to sit up again, and this time, I manage to stay upright. The woman takes a step closer, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Don't bother trying to escape," she says. "You'll never make it out of Raven's Peak alive." I feel a surge of fear, but I'm determined to prove her wrong. I glance around the room, looking for any possible means of escape. That's when I see it: a small, hidden door, cleverly concealed behind a tapestry. The woman follows my gaze, and her smile falters for a moment. "You're clever," she says. "But not clever enough." She pulls out a small key from her pocket and unlocks the door. "Come with me," she says, her voice dripping with menace. "It's time for you to meet the others." I hesitate, unsure of what to do. But as I look into the woman's eyes, I see something that makes my blood run cold. A hint of recognition, a glimmer of familiarity. And then, it hits me: I know this woman. I know her, and she knows me. But how? The woman's smile grows wider, and she reaches out to grab my arm. I try to pull away, but it's too late. She pulls me through the door, and I stumble into a dark, unknown world. And that's when I hear it: the sound of whispers, echoing through the corridors. Whispers that seem to be calling my name. "You should have kept your promise," the whispers seem to say. I spin around, trying to see who's speaking, but the woman just laughs. "You'll find out soon enough," she says, her eyes glinting with malice. And then, just as we're about to turn a corner, I see a figure standing in front of us. A figure I never thought I'd see again. My heart skips a beat as our eyes meet, and I feel my world crashing down around me. It's him. The one person I thought I'd never see again. The one person who can destroy me. And as he smiles, I know I'm in grave danger. "Welcome back," he says, his voice low, husky. "I've been waiting for you." Everything goes black.
