My heart is racing as the voice echoes through the darkness. "Hello, brother," it says again, the words dripping with malice. I try to respond, but my voice is caught in my throat. I'm frozen in fear, unable to move or speak. The voice takes a step closer, its owner's presence filling the room. I can feel its eyes on me, boring into my skin like cold, calculating needles. "You don't remember me, do you?" it says, a hint of amusement creeping into its tone. "You don't remember anything, do you?" The voice is like a knife, cutting through my thoughts and leaving me reeling. I try to think, to remember anything about my past, but it's all a jumbled mess. The memories I saw earlier, the city and the woman with green eyes, they're all I have. But they're not mine, are they? The voice takes another step closer, its owner's breathing growing louder. I can feel its warm breath on my skin, making my flesh crawl. "You're not like them," it says, its voice low and menacing. "You're not human. You're something more." The voice pauses, letting the words hang in the air like a challenge. "You're a product of the Midnight Promise," it says finally, the words sending a shiver down my spine. "A promise made in the dead of night, a promise that can never be broken." The voice raises its tone, the words becoming a scream. "You're a monster, brother! A monster created to serve a purpose, to fulfill a destiny." I try to push back, to defend myself against the voice's accusations. But I'm trapped, unable to move or speak. The voice is all around me, its words suffocating me. And then, just as suddenly as it started, everything stops. The voice falls silent, the breathing ceases, and the darkness closes in. I'm left alone, surrounded by an oppressive silence. But I know I'm not alone for long. The voice will return, and next time, it won't be just words. I hear the sound of footsteps, light and cautious, coming from the other side of the room. They're getting closer, closer, and then... everything goes black. But just as I think it's all over, I feel a hand on my shoulder, a hand that's warm and gentle. It's a touch that's familiar, a touch that's been missing from my life for so long. And as I turn to face the owner of the hand, I see a face that makes my heart skip a beat. It's a face I know, a face I love. But it's also a face that's been dead for years. "Mom?" I whisper, my voice barely audible. And as I look into her eyes, I see something that makes my blood run cold. She's not alone. There's something behind her, something that's watching me with cold, calculating eyes. Something that's waiting for me...
