Panic sets in as the darkness suffocates me. I'm frozen, unable to move or breathe. The sound of footsteps is getting closer, and I can feel the vibrations of each step through the cold, damp floor. My rescuer's grip on my arm tightens, and I feel a surge of adrenaline as he pulls me closer to him. "Stay quiet," he whispers, his breath hot against my ear. I nod, my heart racing, as he slowly backs us away from the hidden door. The footsteps stop right outside the door, and I can sense a presence, looming, waiting. My rescuer's eyes are fixed on the door, his jaw clenched, as he waits for whatever is on the other side to make its move. Suddenly, a faint light flickers to life, casting eerie shadows on the walls. I see a figure, tall, imposing, standing in the doorway. Its features are obscured by the shadows, but I can sense its malevolent presence. My rescuer's hand moves to my waist, his fingers wrapping around a small object tucked into his belt. A gun. He's armed. But is he ready for what's coming? The figure takes a step closer, its eyes fixed on me, and I feel a chill run down my spine. "Well, well, well," a low, menacing voice says. "What do we have here?" My rescuer's grip on the gun tightens, and I can sense his tension, his fear. He's not sure what's coming, but he's ready to fight. For me. The figure takes another step closer, its eyes glinting with malice. "You're a hard woman to find," it says, its voice dripping with sarcasm. "But I've finally got you right where I want you." My rescuer's eyes never leave the figure, his gaze locked in a silent challenge. But I can sense his fear, his uncertainty. He's not sure if he can protect me. And as the figure raises its hand, a small, sinister smile spreading across its face, I realize that we're running out of time. The hand moves, and I see a glint of metal, a flash of light. And then, everything goes black. But just as all hope seems lost, I feel myself being pulled away, dragged through the darkness, away from the figure, away from the danger. I'm not sure where I'm going, or who's taking me, but I know I have to trust him. My rescuer. My enemy. The one person who can save me. Or destroy me. As I'm pulled through the darkness, I hear a voice, whispering in my ear. "I'm sorry," it says. "I'm so sorry." And then, just as suddenly as it started, everything stops. I'm left lying on a cold, hard floor, my head spinning, my heart racing. I try to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washes over me, forcing me back down. As I struggle to catch my breath, I realize that I'm not alone. There's someone beside me, holding my hand, whispering softly in my ear. "You're safe now," the voice says. "You're safe." But as I turn to look at the person beside me, I see a face that makes my blood run cold. A face that I thought I'd never see again. A face that belongs to my sister. My dead sister.
