I'm yanked out of the room, my feet stumbling to keep up with the pace of the person dragging me. The darkness is suffocating, and I'm disoriented, my senses on high alert. I try to shake off the hand gripping my arm, but it only tightens. Panic sets in as I realize I'm completely at the mercy of this unknown person. The sound of muffled voices and chaos fades into the distance, replaced by the echo of my own ragged breathing. We burst through a door, and I'm blinded by the bright sunlight. I squint, my eyes adjusting slowly to the light. That's when I see him - Alex, his eyes locked on mine, a mixture of concern and guilt etched on his face. My mind reels as I try to process what's happening. Why is Alex here? And why did Rachel whisper his name just before everything went black? The hand on my arm releases its grip, and I stumble backwards, my eyes never leaving Alex's face. He takes a step forward, his mouth opening to speak, but I cut him off. "What's going on, Alex?" I demand, my voice shaking with a mix of fear and anger. He hesitates, his eyes darting around the empty hallway before focusing on me again. "We need to talk," he says, his voice low and urgent. "It's about the competition, and...and Rachel." My heart skips a beat as I feel a chill run down my spine. What does Alex know about Rachel? And what does he have to do with the strange occurrences that have been plaguing us? I take a step forward, my eyes blazing with determination. "Tell me," I whisper, my voice barely audible. And then, just as Alex is about to speak, his phone rings, shrill and insistent. He hesitates, his eyes locked on mine, before answering. "Yes?" he says, his voice tight. There's a pause, and then his face goes white. "What do you mean it's gone?" he asks, his voice laced with panic. My mind is racing with questions, but before I can ask any of them, Alex's eyes snap to mine, filled with a warning. "We have to get out of here, now," he says, grabbing my arm again. And then, everything goes black, but this time, I feel a searing pain in my head, and I'm falling, falling, falling...into nothingness. As I plummet into darkness, I hear Alex's voice, whispering a single word in my ear... "Run."
