Darkness crept in like a thief, stealing the last remnants of sunlight. I stood at the edge of the cliff, the wind whipping my hair into a frenzy as I gazed out at the endless expanse of ocean. It was a week ago that I made the promise, a vow to myself to uncover the truth about my sister's disappearance. The police had given up, but I couldn't. I was haunted by the memories of her bright smile, her infectious laugh. My mind was a jumble of emotions, a mix of anger, sadness, and determination. I took a deep breath, the salty air filling my lungs, and began to walk along the winding coastal path. The moon was rising, casting an eerie glow over the waves. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I stumbled upon a piece of paper, torn and tattered, caught in a bush. I picked it up, my heart racing, and smoothed out the creases. A message was scrawled on it, in handwriting I didn't recognize: "They're watching you. Don't trust anyone." Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me, heavy and deliberate. I spun around, but there was no one there. Or so I thought. And then, I saw it: a figure, lurking in the shadows, watching me...
